No coincidences here. Usually I am quite obsessive and careful in writing fiction, but this I wrote at a single sitting, almost no edit required. Stella you're the expert here, I'll leave editorial comment in your hands.Utah Savagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16385093247915560752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5954604416278665691.post-83432266490657436882008-04-09T14:12:00.000-06:002008-04-09T14:12:00.000-06:00What a mind, UT. It occurs to me that this is the first time I've enjoyed reading fiction since I graduated as an English major.

Utah, dear, you can't be off topic on your own blog. Post away. Thanks so much for the kindness and encouragement. I fear the length of these pieces put people off. There's so much more I want to write but I'm... yeah, you guessed it... at work.

This short story shows how a strong woman (I LOVE the protagonist) tries to change gender roles, but few of the attendees understand.

Please, I beg you if you haven't already, read "Big Blonde" by Dorothy Parker. I've adored her writing since I was a young girl, too. The story parallels your style almost exactly. You might also enjoy a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne entitled "The Birthmark." In fact, I think K might enjoy them also.

(whoops... better run... ;-)Stella by Starlighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16385761338190877425noreply@blogger.com
