A New Secret Club Is Brewing Up A Blog

Well, let the writing commence! Many of us are working on fiction or something resembling fiction. I once again propose that we start a writer's group. All you need is a work in progress. I have not cleared this with Dcup, but she was the one who designed the gorgeous secret blog called "Deadly Women Write". There are still stories there in progress, but now there are other stories needing a place to be worked on where ones fellow writers can make suggestions and actually be each others copy editors. It is incredibly helpful and has inspired a collection of Judith Blue stories from moi. Anyway, if you're interested and working on a short story or novel, let me know so we can get this going. So far, I'd say this blog will include Diva Jood who it's rumored is working on a story. Dcup has a couple up her sleeve. Randal has a novel brewing. Beach has several stories, so do I, maybe Naj and NJRR. If you want to be included in this new project leave a comment.

I used to do poetry and the occasional short story, but since I got hooked on politics that has all gone by the wayside.

But I would love to read what you all write.

Oh, dusty, politricks is bad for the soul and the complexion. Why do you think I look so fresh and young with a spring in my step and a gleaming smile?

Okay, those are lies, but join us anyway. Together we can rule the galaxy as blogger and other blogger. If you only knew the power of the dark side!

Um, utah, designed the gorgeous secret site? Is your Chicks Who Murder Innocent Dudes In Cold Blood place all fancy? Should I bring Chantilly lace doilies and go black tie?

Well, yes, randal the chicks who murder site is pretty lovely. It should be a seductive site since we are looking to lure victims. But this would be a site without an agenda other than fostering the writerly art of writing "fiction."

Dusty, I posted one of my deadly women stories in my short story collection. It's called "Body Warmth." It's a chapter from the novel, "Maggy" that I have done some major tinkering with.

You been messing w/Maggie U.S.?

I have a few moments in my life that were deadly that I could embellish in short story form.

Randal..it was either politics or I became a drug addict. The other option seemed so...lousy. ;p

Wish I could jump into something like that, but I've been doing technical writing long that all the creative life has been sucked right out of me. I'll have to settle for reading what others write.

Sorry I'm late! Busy family day. (I'd rather be writing says the tired mommy.)

Count me in, love. Shall I put together the new blog or have you lined someone up to do it?

Utah Savage said...

No, of course we want you to do all the work. We've been waiting for you to get home from your work trip and finish your family chores and work for us for free.

I am working on a story, and would love to be part of this. Only I'm scared shitless as I never show my fiction or poetry to anybody.

well, I've been in need of some creative lubrication ... maybe this is what the dr. ordered. November is going to be a month of solitude for me so hopefully I'll find some inspiration.

Count me in, I've gone as far as to get a laptop which will be what I write on from now. My son's "Rock Band" and other video games complete screw my head up when I try to write. So Utah, email me with the details.

OK, I write poetry....I have problems with commitment ... hmmm, Utah you are so tempting, how can I resist? I am not sure(since I am scared of committing BUT I would love to hear more details of expectations, another one of those scary things, and all that...

Can I read if I don't feel like writing? U, you know what it's like! geez...

The only point at which someone not in the blog would be able to read material from the writer's blog would be if and when a particular writer thinks a story, poem, or novel is finished and posts it at his or her place. The writer's blog is a place to work on unfinished pieces with the editorial help and comments of other writers. So, no you could not read as we work, but if you're a writer in the group you could. What a conundrum, huh?

Hey..I have some experience in dealing with templates and building websites.

I would enjoy making something U.S.

Dusty you're on. Design us a site that is private and accessible to all the writers involved but is not available to the general reader who isn't working on a project on the site. We have such a blog called "Deadly Women Write" and have 15 stories in progress. Now we need one that is not so specifically targeted to women with murder in their imaginations. Give it a go. Dcup did the Deadly one and it appeared as if by magic on our list of blogs but was not visible to those not participating. Way beyond my paltry skills. I've spent the whole day trying to get a technorati widget posted on my site and can't figure out how to do it. Now I need a nap.

U.S.~ Could you email me? I don't know what the working title of the site is..

And the email I have for you bounced back this morning.

Utah Savage said...

Dusty you set us up. I have posted two stories in process and I see you have posted several pieces. I would like to see each writer's writing somehow set up by his or her name. I just got stoned but not stoned enough to be coherent. I'll get back to you on that.

We have two weeks of campaigning and blogging about the election and then we'll need a creative outlet. I think this is a terrific site. I do have trouble reading white on black. Can we reverse that or soften the black and beef up the white? Picky picky picky.

I made the background grey..and the font whitey white..is that better?

I am medicating now. ;p

The label cloud will work for individual posts.

You merely need to add, as in your case "Utah's posts" to the label box at the bottom of each piece you write.

Also, email me the member's email addresses...so I can send them an invite.

Dusty go to my newest post. It's called Writers United.

Please, may I come to the writing party? (I've had a hard time with the killing one, but I am looking to get writer's block in some other formats.)
