A Storm is Blowing In

We're having a change of weather. The temperature is falling pretty fast. A wind will blow in and the leaves on the Green Ash will start to fall. It is the first tree in the yard to turn and turns spectacularly yellow in a couple of days. The leaves stay on the stem until a gust of wind brings them all down at once. It's breathtaking. I have just cleaned the dead leaves off the deck and out of the gazebo for guests last Sunday. I left the blower and extension chord outside and will have to tuck them away in a minute. But before the leaves are gone, here is a shot of the yellow leaves on the Green Ash against a blue sky. It's hard to get an idea of the size of this tree from this photograph, I will try to give it scale and post a series of photos of it later.

I thought that you was having trouble posting pics Utah ... looks like a pretty good photo to me.

Anyway, after listening to all the political bullshit on TV ain't it refreshing to look up that ol' ash tree into that blue sky?

Yes, it was a lovely few minutes trying to get a few shots of it before it was naked.

But at least you get some nice fall color before all the leaves fall off. Very pretty. We are still hot down here, but the change is coming. I hate the cold winter wind.

Pretty! We have some scenes like that and they're dissappearing so quickly.

Gonna snow here tonight....

Now that's a groovy shot. It's windy as hell here, but a decent amount of trees still have their green leaves. Of course some are as naked as a jaybird. Aren't all birds, by definition, naked?

It's a beautiful tree! Your house puts its size in perspective. Nice house too by the way!

What a lovely picture...I would love to see more and I liked seeing your house in there too...I wish I had ONE tree with leaves that turned but alas the tree I planted that DOES turn is so small...I don't think it likes the continued 80's and I'm sick of them too.

Trees are so fickle! They can never decide what color to wear, or even decide whether to wear anything at all!
