The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

That is my all time number one favorite poem. Thanks for posting it. Geez it is so cold here. 8 degrees today with snow on the horizon. Nothing a week in New Mexico couldn't cure.
Always the best - to you.
Same to you darling. I'm so happy to have posted your favorite poem. Consider it my season's greeting just to you.
It's cold here too, and we're scheduled for snow and cold for the duration. Stay warm and cozy and safe.
O Great Poet:
I am having difficulty with a poem. I am attempting to extoll the virtues of Holy Matrimony in the Diamante Poetic Form. Yet, all I can come up with is a total disaster. Could you please advise me?
HOLY MATRIMONY is an INSTITUTION, which makes Holy Matrimony and Institutios the key words of the poem. Further, INSTIUTIONS will become the centrepiece.
Brainstorming for Instititutions, I come up with Insane Assylums, Prisons, and the IRS. When I assemble the poem, here is what I get:
Prisons
HOLY MATRIMONY
I N S T I T U T I O N S
INSANE ASSYLUMS
IRS
The couple which I composed the poem for were not happy. Let's just say that the Lady is a good Knife Thrower. I was lucky to be able to outrun the not-so-Gentle-Man.
Is there any way you can help me?
The Former PO8
The former PO8? Hummm. I think you have exactly what you need. Which begs the question, what's in it for the marrying kind?
This is one of my all time favorites also. Thanks for posting.
Ms. Savage:
Are you telling me that my poem was actually a good poem?
I didn't understand your answer.
The former PO8
This is a great poem, but every time I see it now I can't help but think of that episode of the Simpsons where great aunt Gladys kicks the bucket and Lionel Hutz stops the videotape of her reading it.
In the beginning, I quoted this Frost poem in my blog header. My book of Frost poems is one of my most cherished air-looms from my mother - the Birch (as in tree).
