More Frightful Photos of Winter in the West

I was up wandering around in the middle of the night. I had a dream that I had a headache and had to pee real bad. So thankfully I got up and made my way to the bathroom, passing through the greenhouse room on my way. And what should I see on my way but more terrible weather? So bladder once relieved, and big honking Ibuproffen taken, I grabbed my camera and turned on the outside lights to see this through the glass of the green house. Then when I woke up this "morning," I thought I had dreamed the photo taking. See, your dreams really can come true. Just dare to dream small.

Cold but beautiful! Almost unreal looking, but I'm certain the cold isn't unreal feeling! We're having the same freezing weather here in Seattle -- not as bad as yours, but bad enough. Stay warm!

Hi Sylvia, yes, it does have a certain nightmare quality. But I have two choices: Go outside and shovel, or stay inside and vacuum. I'm inside. Vacuuming during commercials.

Thanks darling, so are you. I feel like I might be worth visiting when you drop by. Sorry that I'm not getting out much, but baby it's cold outside. Even a trip around the net feels like I've left the nest and might not be able to smoke.

Utah, The photographs are stunning. They feel altogether surreal.

But what is this business about shoveling and vacuuming???? Somehow, somewhere, you've developed some very bad habits. Learn to let the dust cushion you. Think of it as a delicate layer.
Vacuums are heavy noisy things that will only irritate your sensibilities. And shoveling? That could be serious! Yes,I realize someone must do it, preferably with a noisy but efficient machine. So happens I've been to Utah, and my parents live in Idaho. Lotta snow there.
So I know first hand that if you're entertaining the idea of taking an actual shovel to the snow and ice (evident in the photo), you're gonna hurt yourself. Doesn't matter how strong you are.
Why not dance for exercise or practice yoga on your pillowy floor. See if the dust bunnies don't hop in time with you.

Oh Kathleen, you are the best commenter in the world. How will I survive without you? But still, have a great trip. Wish I were with you.

Ghost, I'm a huge Rosemary Clooney fan. I have a two box set of her best work. Frosty the Snowman isn't one of the songs included in the set. Now my life's complete.

Ms Dcup, I left my reply at your place so as not to arouse the natives here.
