Two Women Who Say It Best For Me

Barbara Boxer, when asked by Keith Oblermann what she thought about President Obama's Address tongiht, said, "It was a home run, a touchdown and a three pointer."

Rachel Maddow's comment on her own reaction to Bobby Jindal's rebuttal, was to say that it left her, "slack jawed and babbling like a Benadrilled infant."

The B-box and Rachel are just the greatest. That LA governor has his head so far up his...well you know. He is not going to accept the money? The LA people get screwed once again by their own.
I missed the President's speech, just caught bits and pieces afterwards. Will have to Utube it.

Have a great day.

Pres. Obama's speech = electrifying. Bobby Jindals babbling = drug worthy! What a little twit like, Opie-esque human being. His little speech at the end was witless, stupid and moronic. Oh...that would be the GOP!

watch out for Jindal in 2012

No one else watched the Cavs game?

Watching Jindal walk toward the camera looking like a Forrest Gump/Gomer Pyle combo had me saying "Oh God" the same time as Keith O.
Jindal did accomplish something I didn't think possible though, it was actually as painful to listen to him as it was Bush.

Saoirse, It was a great speech. Watch it when you can. Then right after Obama's speech watch Jindal's. It makes for a great contrast. And imagine, just as Jindal opens his mouth imagine Keith Olberman say "Oh God" in the most horrified and mocking tone. It was perfect.

themom, If Jindal is their standard barer they're in real trouble

Linda, I'll be watching Jindal like a hawk watching a mouse.

Randal, we will have to leave it to you to inform us on the "Cavs." Is that Cavaliers? Is that basketball? I try to be informed. Honestly I do.

Beach, you caught that derisive and horrified "Oh God" from Keith too? It was the perfect beginning to Jindal's speech and them Rachel babbling and speechless after... Well it did make my day.

I didn't watch either. I am so totally maxed out on politics that I just couldn't be bothered to break up the quiet with the speeches. But the after-game commentary has been fascinating.

Nice speech it was. At least we can now listen to a cogent and intelligent fellow for a change; one who can actually put a paragraph together when he speaks.

I hope you are feeling a bit better with the coming warmth. I had a nagging cough for October and went for a chest X-ray which is still not settled since the doctor detected what he thought were "nipple shadows" on the film and wants me to do it gain with tiny beads (markers) attached to my nipples to rule out their influence on the new X-ray. Seems like a way to get an extra $150 to me. Why didn't they use them in the first place?
Medicine seems to be stuck in the middle ages. I read where only 20% of doctors use laptops or store medical info on computers these days!

Goatman, one of the things Obama wants to do with the Stimulus is to modernize the medical system. Hope all goes well for you.

I knew within two sentences that whatever Jindal said was headed straight up his ass.

Nicely put, Kevin.

Obama was wonderful! He's laid out a very liberal, ambitious agenda to get this country back on track. And Jindal--boy, I expected better.

Watched the Obama speech. He did get a few jabs at the rethugs but nothing really new there. I think it was more an attemp to instill confidence for America.
Jinddy's speech I turned off as I knew I'd want to miss it. I'd say his career or run in 2012 is over. When your own party pans you you have to be bad.
I did start reading the text of the stimilus bill. Now that I think about it much of what's in there is what Bush cut or refused to fund the last eight years.

Obama's speech was great - as others have said, it's such a pleasure to actually be able to listen to an intelligent speech that makes sense.

I was worried that Jindal would be fantastic and be someone to really worry about in 2012 but after that speech my worries have subsided. It was pretty pitiful. Of course he could still learn a lot before 2012 so I'm not ruling him out. But I think the American people have finally seen through the GOP rhetoric and it won't matter who is bringing it to them even if he does develop more charisma and a better speaking style in 4 years.

Of course, if the economy doesn't respond to Obama's stimuli we may have another story. Fingers are crossed!

I unabashedly love my Senator. Barbara Boxer should have been president a long time ago.

New job, 10-hour days, no blog time. I miss all of you...

Stella, we miss you too. Good luck with the new job.
