Here's That Rainy Day

I know wallowing doesn't help, nor eating glazed donuts heated in the microwave for dinner. But we all have our ways of dealing with disappointment. Mine is to eat sweet "pastry," and listen to songs that used to get to me. When I was a young and melodramatic moony girl, this song appealed to me a great deal. Today it gets to me again for different reasons. And why not Frank Sinatra? It's hard to beat the young Frank.

"It's hard to beat the young Frank."

Amen, sister. I watch his lips when he sings, and when he moves them off to one side at the end of a phrase, I get all squishy inside.

I'm pretty squishy. Good to see you and glad I have at least one friend who also shares my fondness for young Frank when I'm feeling sorry for myself. I hate self pity, and so will only wallow today, but tomorrow I'll start over. I do apologize for not visiting more. I'll try to be a better friend in future.

I have never felt "squishy" yet I still love him singing some of his early songs. Does that say anything about my sexuality?
I don't think so; at times, he was near perfect as a singer.........I am old enough to remember when I was "inspired" by some of his songs........and I am only 46 !!

It's Francis Albert isn't it? Rather than Albert Francis. Looks to be late '50s vintage...and a not bad performance, although I like the record better. "No One Cares" I think. I'm very particular about Frank's TV appearances, and out of the specials there's only a handful of songs that really floor me. Angel Eyes from the Madison Square Garden is one of them. But hearing him~~~man, there's nothing like it. Never will be again either. You know I Guess I'll Hang My Teardrops Out To Dry? Killer. The man could interpret our ballads, and that's that---no matter how horrid his personal life.

I think glazed donuts do have curative qualities. I'm sure there have been studies done.

Are you out of your green jammies yet?

Grey, not green, and that makes all the difference. And the answer, Lisa, is no. I am not out of my jammies yet. I'm not planning to get out of my jammies all damn day. Want to bake something of it?

Linda, I'm sorry to hear that. I've seen it happen before, and then witnessed the resurrection. I'm hoping you take a break and then return.
