Heal Thyself!

I'm back from the doctor's visit and running every possible errand I could fit into the pre-primetime news hours.

Here's the news from Chez Savage.

I got weighed and measured today. I've lost three pounds and haven't shrunk. It's my little Lenten Season Miracle.

I'm dehydrated. I told her that. She pressed on my forearm and said, "Yup. You are." I said, "I need to drink more water. She said, "Looks like it." We talked about the succession of symptoms I've had. She said, "There's a lot of that going around. Do you need to eat yogurt?" "No."

She poked me on the side of my ring-fingertip and we waited for the readout. I'm a bit too clotty. I need to increase my Warfarin. I bet anyone who knows me would say I'm way too warfarin' as it is, but so be it. A little Warfarin I will go. I talked about the lifestyle changes that come with Spring at my place. Since I got home I've dusted and moved the blue 8 lb. weights within eye sight of my bed. No reason I can't work on my Michelle Obama arms while watching the morning news, drinking my coffee and smoking my morning cigarettes. Oh yes, just one will not due. I need to smoke several to get my morning nicotine level up to par. And no, do not tell me to stop. Even my doctor knows better than that. The bronchitis has gone away.

I went to the bank, the post office, two grocery stores and Cahoots, the card shop by The Tower theater--Salt Lake's oldest art house movie theater. I only forgot one thing. And since I still can't remember what it was without searching for my list, which I probably left in the cart, it must not matter all that much.

I'll call Nick and tell him I'm ready to take him to lunch and a movie when he can fit me into his busy schedule. He really does have a very busy social life, unlike moi.

You had a busy day. Time to relax and put your feet up. I spent my 2nd sick day at home. I could get used to this...but I owe I owe, you know.

Does Minnesota have the craziest politics? You got Bach inciting violence and revolution and a rightful senator being kept from his work because the loser can't say when. And to think my Mom was raised there.

Have a good middle of the week. Feel better and be strong.

I can just see you doing a set of curls, then taking a drag off your cigarette. Then another set of curls. Another drag.

Go on - whatever it takes, right? Just tonight MathMan suggested I eat ice cream while running on the elliptical. It's a thought.

Oh, one more thing. Garbo agrees that she must learn French. Now she wants to quit school, be home schooled and be taught in French exclusively.

Oh boy.

Lisa, holy crap! I've ruined your life. But think of this if you will? She may be the next world's best actress. She may buy you an apartment in Paris. She may remember the roll I played in setting the wheels in motion. Maybe you should think about this very seriously. French, acting lessons, and a great grounding in math and science. Plus she needs to learn to play an instrument and sing in French. I'm loving this fantasy. I hope she's a quick memorizer. Makes learning languages and lines easier. Tell her to give me a call. I've got an agent here and a lot of movies are made here. Tell her I've been in a few. Send her to Salt Lake to spend her summers with Auntie Peg. There are 16 kids on this one small block and they need organizing. There is a gang just waiting for an organizer.

Steve, Saoire, good of you two to check in on me. Sorry I got carried away with my fantasies about Garbo and didn't include both of you in my scheming. Glad to see you out and about.

Just watch the cream and the clear and the flaxseed oil, don't want those guns getting you a front row seat before a Congressional panel.

Glad you are feeling better and got rid of the bronchitis.

At this point it would probably shock your system to give up cigarettes anyway. My mom (age 90) says that's her story and she's sticking to it!

Mauigirl, I love your mom. I plan to be just like your mom.

I'm going through a little period of fighting off a slow moving virus--a but like a slow moving storm. It started with a bronchitis and has then gone here and there to finally lodge in my head. Might be related to my not drinking enough water. So I am forcing myself to drink water, eat veggies and fruits that are water rich. Cantaloupe--ummm good. I'm going mostly vegetarian while I try to clear out my system a bit. But boy, do I have one hell of a headache.
