It looks so fresh and relaxing. I'm glad you posted these, because in my imagination you were still battling snow and ice. Stupid, I know. But I hadn't readjusted my ideas of you to fit the season.
More soothing vistas to come, I promise. I'm planing to take my camera with me when I walk around this clean and peaceful neighborhood. And all the children in the neighborhood like me. I should be blissed out this summer writing my ass off, but instead I fret endlessly. Nothing I do at home is particularly productive. I've spent years leaving home in the car once a week at most. Now I have to drive every day to either run an errand or take Z to a hospital. Today is a day off, so far, yet still I fret.
Hi Utah -- It has been a while since I commented here, but as I was reading this post, I noticed my name in the comment choice area? Don't know how it got there, but took it as an invitation LOL. So I figured, why not.
Loved seeing those photos of your neighborhood -- as I had mentioned earlier, I also lived on Lincoln many years ago, around 1400 South.
We could possibly have been neighbors at one time as I also lived just up the street on 1100 E and 1400 South before that, ever since I was 4 years old.
I now live in Murray, and love it here -- really a nice area.
I really enjoy your blog, and find your posts all very interesting. I have pretty much remained a 'lurker' as I don't feel like I could possibly compete with you and your friends -- all such good/fun writers. :o)
So, enough rambling for now -- Take care!!! Have a good one.
Joyce, your comments are always welcome. The only thing my commenters have in common is that they comment. Yes, all smart and lovely people, but it's that they leave a comment that matters to me. If you read, I'm delighted, if you comment I know you read and we can start to talk. Maybe we were neighbors, but no matter where you live, if you comment we're definitely neighbors.
Kevin, that is very astute. It is characterless and has not a touch of ethnicity or urban chic. It is indeed Mormon Americana which is almost Disneyland Americana. Uber clean. The flip side or the good thing about it is that despite the fact that we are very close to down town yet this is the quietest place. We have lots of kiddies in the neighborhood and only the sound of children's voices breaks through to me. The children next door call me Payggy. Four year old twins--boy and girl, and a six year old boy. They think I have a jungle in my backyard and the dogs are like a magnet. They can't come over without a parental unit with, so I'm like the nice old witch who lives in a cottage with a window in the gate between our houses. If they hear me moving around outside, or yelling at the dogs to shut up, these darling kids call "Payggy, Payggy, will you open the window in the fence?" And so we chat for awhile and then I say, "Sorry darlings, got to go." And they always want to keep talking. The little girl told me Santa didn't bring her any gold dress-up clothes last christmas. We have a fashion bond that can't be broken. Now I look for gold dress-up clothes and accessories for her collection. Today I found a headband for her.
I am a self-published writer of short stories, poetry, and politics. I'm a rescuer of dogs and stray cats. I believe everything is political—especially sex and religion.

Looks like Americana to me.
This is beautiful and light and delightful.

I wish I had a fire hydrant across the street from my house, and I don't even have a dog!
What a lovely street, I'm glad you live in such a peaceful neighborhood.
I love seeing your street! It makes me feel closer to you, just like you said that video did today.
