One, Two, Three, Four...
I’m old enough to remember the rallying cries of the sixties, and they are making a comeback. I heard today on CNN, demonstrators in Washington chanting “One, two, three, four. We don’t want your oil war! “ Lacks something of the passion I remember as the original was “One, two, three, four. We don’t want your fucking war!” But to quote another inspirational line, “It doesn’t take a Weatherman to know which way the wind blows.” Ah yes, “The times they are a changin’.”

Not a fucking dollar more!
Nice one, let's hear more.
Vig, it sees as if I've been deserted. Just you and me now. What happened? Was it something I said?
Utah I am also old enough to remember those heady days of the '60's. While not a flower child (I was in the Army) I certainly empathized with the protests of the times. Happy Easter to you!
A tail-end Boomer, I always wished I were able to get out there and rally. Your chant reminds me of an old Country Joe song that we probably all remember. Just a slight change, and we can update it for the ghouls in the White House.
And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for
Don't ask me I don't give a damn
Next stop will be Iran
And it's five, six seven
Open up the pearly gates
Well, there ain't no time to wonder why
WHOOPIE! We're all gonna die...
Stella, you take me back. Yes, that song was written during the Vietnam war days, and we all sang it a rallies with great gusto. It's "Apocalypse Now!" all over again. All that's missing is the sweet smell of napalm in the morning. That and the Draft.
Yes, indeed. From Apocalypse Now: "I love the smell of napam in the morning.
