The Shock Doctrine

The Stationagent has posted this piece on John Amato's interview of Naomi Klein. It is the best and most in depth interview I've seen with her on her book, The Shock Doctrine. It's almost an hour long interview. But it is so compelling you will not be able to turn away. Please listen carefully, and pass it on. You will never be able to say you didn't know the dangers of unfettered, unregulated capitalism again. I'm a big a fan of the two Naomis--Klein and Wolf.

Now I know what I'll be doing at work tomorrow. (I can't watch them at home or I'll blow the bandwidth).

Thanks!

I like both Noami's too! Yes, what is happening now in our country is just more shock therapy for the masses here. She lays it all out and it is easy enough to understand. Will anything be done with this knowledge though is another question.

Only if we listen and read. I'm hoping you have some pull at your library and can give it some up front favorite, must read space, close to the checkout desk.

Did I tell you I used to be a reference librarian? It was my all time favorite job. I was told by lots of other librarians that I was a "natural."

I'm having to turn tricks to pay for comcast. It's not all that comcastic, either. But it's better than the alternative. I am so addicted to this thing we call blogging. Ten months ago I didn't know what a blog was. Had to be forced into it. Now it's my job.

Lib, to get back to your comment about what we might do with this knowledge... Forewarned is forearmed. I bet we keep a better watch on the nations financial institutions for a few decades. We will have a stake in the results of this "loan" to Wall Street. Praemonitus praemunitus
