Without the bar, without the "other" to love or hate, this is how I feel. Do you think this is something I choose? You would be wrong to think that. This is the way I am. Can you not be you?
My favorite Bukowski poem is a little less misogynistic:http://plagiarist.com/poetry/137/
You might like my post about Bukowski that I wrote about visiting his grave:http://tinyurl.com/cs4pej
I had been to his home and knew his wife, but it was after he died. p.s. I was so happy that Roman Grant( Harry Dean Stanton's character) on Big Love was killed off. Hooray! The Prophet is dead!!:-)
I love Bukowski and I'd love him more if I hadn't met so many drunks in art school trying to be him. Man, it sure was cool seeing Harry Dean Stanton too
Kevin, that's the sweetest thing you ever said to me.
I was a Henry Miller woman too. I even have a collection of small prints he did when married to his last wife. I can't remember her name, but she and my mother knew one another. She lived in Hope Ranch in Santa Barbara.
Hank had a Henry Miller painting in his guest bathroom. Where they pals? I cannot imagine it. Did I make it up or did they get in the ring once together and duke it out?
I like Henry Miller's digs better than Bukowski: Paris, NYC and Big Sur trump Bukowski's L.A. and San Pedro.
And, Utah, I LOVE Big Love. It was so great this season. The writing is fantastic. Isn't it?
Yes, Balette, it is not only well written it's accurate. I have a girl friend who grew up in a polygamist family that was related to the Jeffs family that was the prophet of the Colorado City polygamists, or as I call them pligs. My friend has over 3,000 cousins. I know, it's crazy, but yes, indeed, that's how the bunnies multiply. One jackrabbit and many fertile bunnies can feed a village.
I am a self-published writer of short stories, poetry, and politics. I'm a rescuer of dogs and stray cats. I believe everything is political—especially sex and religion.

"love is a fog that burns with the first daylight of reality"
Holy poetic license, That was truly beautiful and absolutely true.

Bill Paxton will always be the whiny Private Hudson in Aliens.
It's hard to tell in that short interview (or some of his other ones) if Buk is for real or putting you on, no matter though, I still enjoy his work.
