File This Under Fabulous

I am not a fan of... I don't even know the name of the show. I don't watch any "reality" shows on general principle. I was an actor with an agent. Why would I be in favor of "reality" shows? I've been furious at fashion magazines for using "celebrities" as models. It just cuts the professionals out of the paycheck loop. And the whole "reality" thing has lowered the national I.Q. in my opinion. We seem to be a nation getting dumber by the day. But I am fortunate to be on YellowDogGranny's email update list. And today she sent me this.

It was so lovely I watched in stunned, and goose bumped wonder. Do yourself a favor and see if I'm right. Granted this comes to us from the UK, but I may have to rethink my disdain for Idol.

I've never watched 'Idol' but, not having spent the past decade in a potato bin, I am familiar with it. I think I just watched the best thing that ever happened on the show anywhere. Cool!

Well, No need to get nasty about my potato bin, Susan.

Belette, I keep watching it too and weeping. One of the loveliest things I've seen in a long time. I loved the audiences obvious joy in being in the presence of such talent.

I love the dog that was on last years Britain's Got Talent..smartest little dog in the world!

Pretty impressive, but feel free to keep up the hatred of all things 'reality' television.

I firmly believe that all reality television should end with bloodshed, so that those involved would learn something about not making an ass of themselves on television. Y'know, one clear winner, but then the runner up gets shot in the head on national television, something along those lines.

It could thin the lines of potential contestants dramatically.

Oh, I thought I was such a sap, crying...so I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one...

Bloody fantastic, Utah....Thanks for sharing!

I like baked potatoes. There's no way that woman would have a shot here.

Utah - "thank you" a million times. That performance was SO fabulous - I was thriled to see/hear Susan Boyle -

the female judge said it was a "privilege to hear her sing" and it was.

Again, "thank you"

Gail

Thanks you Utah and YellowDogGranny. That was the best and most uplifting thing I have seen in a very long time. Susan Boyle rocks!

I just showed it to Jer and I rarely do that. He loved it too.

btw - I think you have a fine potato bin :-) I was referring to the fact we haven't watched any tv for more than 10 years.

Susan, I wish I could say that about not watching any TV, but I am a snob about reality shows. And the labor issues get my goat. Then there is that sliding IQ thing.

For once, I scooped Anderson Cooper with a story. Today he is doing a piece on the 400 million views of this performance. Will I get an award do you think?

You deserve one :-)

Now this is everyone's favorite news story.

Contessa Brewer was complaining on today twitter that this woman needs a serious makeover as she is not attractive enough. My question for Contessa is when do you get a brain makeover you pretty little twit. You were obviously hired for your looks, but I'd prefer to look at an old grizzled woman with a high IQ deliver the news than a pretty girl who knows very little.

Took my breath away, she did.

Where has she been hiding?
