If There is God

If there is god
In this she shapes
A humble kindness

A small brown box reveals these gifts
One large moist spicy pumpkin loaf
Heavy like honey with generosity
An old slim book of poetry
In each word upon the page a mans longing
And new to me
A card sacred for such touching humility

These gifts sent to a woman never met
Who writes her secrets on a disappearing page
Perhaps to never know if they are understood
Light sent into a void and answered like a prayer

And yet here is proof: a loaf, a book of poetry, a card

Fran, I'm so happy to see you today. And thank you for the response to this. It's a quick first draft, as are most of my poems.

I hope your Easter is lovely.

"Happy Easter Utah"
Beautiful poetry - soft and simple, yet powerful and profound. Only YOU can write of such promise, only you.......

Love Gail

Poetry usually escapes me, but I got this (I think).

I hope that someone is lucky enought to nibble on your (chocolate) ears today, Utah.

Regards,

Tengrain

Divine moments are not often grand celestial displays to light up the sky, often they are a simple word, a gesture, a human connection coming from unexpected places.

Thank you for filling the void with light.
