Rachel Maddow Tweeted This To Me (okay and some others...)

Rachel Maddow and I are now tweeting at my place. I just woke up at noonish, got my coffee, took the dogs outside, fed them, and then checked twitter. I may have died and gone to heaven. My first visible tweet of the day is Ms Maddow's and it's amazing. Check this out. I know you've seen Jonathan Mann on The Daily Show or Colbert, and various news shows, but now he's hit his stride and todays song is...?
Waterboarding.

After linking to the song, she links us to the lyrics. Ms Maddow knows how to get the facts straight and even when you're crying about the lyrics, you're amazed at the talent of the singer and then horrified at what the Bush Administration gave us, and how very much Crazy Unka Dick loves, loves, loves justifying his torture program and how very very very effective it was. Keep talking Unka Dick. Maybe you'll get tortured someday. Well, I can dream, can't I?

I think it is great that Cheney won't shut up about how great torturing people is. It all might sink in with the mainstream media that Unka Dick is really quite insane and really should be investigated. He's getting to be pretty hard to ignore already.

Tell me again, how did these people ever come into power (and stay there for a subsequent election)? It all seems like a very, very bad plot to a made for TV movie. Probably starring Clu Gulager or John Saxson or someone like that.

Zeppo, great comment. You really should be doing some serious blogging--you've got a great voice. I'm certainly happy you decided to comment at my place.

The thing that keeps shooting through the Swiss cheese of my brain is the possibility that Cheney might get blindsided from an unexpected place.

Since President Obama had not ruled out criminal investigations into "officials" from the Bush administration I'm sure if it goes that far some sort of scapegoat will eventually be offered far lower down the chain of command to save Cheney, Rummy, and Chimpy. That's how they operate.

Now if I was some poor lower level sap who did have something to do with this torture crap but knew it really was approved by those far higher I'd start singing like a freaking canary. I know Cheney is suppose to have the power of Satan to scare people but someone has to have some balls somewhere. If I was the Democrats I'd start offering immunity to anyone willing to come forward. Just a thought.

Beach it's a damn good thought. And Rachel has had two people on who were in the know talking about their opposition to the Bush torture policy and wrote memo's stating their opposition then having all copies of those memos got disappeared. So the authors of the memos that got disappeared are pissed off and talking. One was legal adviser for Condi. It's starting to happen. Stay tuned.

Yep, because waterboarding is NOT torture.

That's amazing! How do you make a song out of the words on a Form? That guy is good. Very impressive. I watch Maddow too, and think she is very smart.
The way it happened that we got THOSE GUYS for eight years is that our country voted them in. Twice. They played the fear factor big time and put a lot of people in their back pocket, to keep us "safe" from all the terror out there.
The only people we weren't safe from was them.
