i love swing music..my mother was a quasi/singer and she knew all the words to all the great 30's/40's songs and she sang them to me..my favorite is still st. louis woman.
great post.. it matters not what all is going on...a little swing music is the perfect get-a-way(if only for a few moments)

I used to love watching my parents put on old swing music and do that wild dancing. Of course, we hid the booze while they were flinging themselves about.

Ah yes, the 1940s Ray Nance feature. What a wonderful artist---and how he did test us jazz fans bringing the violin into Ellington!
But both Duke and Ray of course would tell us the song always belongs to Ivy Anderson. Is it possible her recording with Duke was in 1932? She was as modern as today!
However Utah, I think that lyric goes "It makes no difference if it's sweet or hot." Sweet, not cool. You remember cool. You probably invented it, in California, in the '50s.
