Hard Times, Come Again No More

In memory of my friend Zelita who died this morning. And for Esther, who taught me this song. We're having some hard times, aren't we?

Ditto to CDP.
We are up against it. Keeping the faith is a daily do, eh?

May You keep for YourSelf a Loving relationship with the memory and ongoing Value of Your Friend, Zelita. She will continue to live as long as You create and recreate her in Your heart.

Hard Times have often produced the greatest Memories, the sweetest Music, the most evocative Art. In many ways, these hard times are unlike anything anyone now alive can remember. It may be time, this time, to simply start anew, which is to say, starting anew in a simpler, sustainable life. For some the struggle is over; those of Us who remain have the opportunity to craft new possibilities.

Much Love to You, Dear Peggy.

UTAH_

I yelped right out loud - and tears of sadness naturally fell - I am truly sorry for your loss - I was honored to share in your friendship with "Z" by what you so lovingly wrote.

Love Gail
peace......

So sorry. I've lost my wife, my mother, and a girlfriend. It's always a hard time when death happens. All I can tell you is to lean on all your other frinds. The true ones will be more than happy to oblige you.

Ahhh but she headed west to be with family, & see the shimmering ocean waters in the sunset of her life.
Her physical struggle on this plane is over.
She is free of it. She liberated herself from the medical treatment she tried, but was not working. She spend her final time as she wished, as SHE chose.
So take some solace in that, even though I know she is a dear friend.

I know hard times will come again. That's inevitable. Take comfort and support in the friendships you have, knowing you are loved, and you'll get through. Peace.

My condolences Utah. I am reminded by a line from an old Joe Cocker song:

"friends I can count on I can count on one hand with a left over finger or two."

I always valued my friendships but as I get older I suspect attrition will begin to take its course. I worry about that.

Again, I am sorry for your loss Utah.

It is your kindness and generous spirits I now will count on more and more as the number of my close friends gets smaller. This is the hard part of living a long life.

Thank you for letting me know you're there, looking in on me now and then. It's a great comfort.

Awe, Utah, this was the post I was dreading to see.

What little comfort that there is might be that she is suffering no more, and as a good friend I know you get that.

My father, very Irish, always said that "our people have wakes because we know that the departed is going to a better world and we are happy for them." I suppose it is delusional in its own way, but a somewhat charming custom.

Have a glass of single-malt scotch and reflect on that better world, and know that Z is having some scotch, too.

Much love to you,

Regards,

Tengrain
