We'll Miss You Roscoe

Roscoe is about to embark on a great adventure.  Yesterday was his last day with us.  He's lived here almost all his life.  He's secure and loved.  We'll mourn his leaving and hope his new life will be every bit as happy as his life with us has been.  Bon Voyage, Roscoe.  And if you ever want to come back, just tell Ms M.  We'll always be here for you.

What a relief! Until I read past he first few lines I thought you were putting him down or something (or sending him to summer camp).

What a beautiful dog. You will absolutely no doubt miss him.

Roscoe's moving to Savannah Georgia with Ms M. She thinks she has all the details worked out, but she's forgotten how attached he is to this place and these people and animals. I put together a care-package of toys for him for the long road trip. She thinks that's silly, but he loves playing with squeak toys. He picks one from the basket of toys here and carries it to everyone who visits, carried proudly and gently in his mouth. I think Ms M is a bit embarrassed that her big strong dog has developed a fondness for the squeak toys.

Oh goodness. Is Ms M going to school in Savannah?

Yes Lisa, Ms M is going to the Savannah School of Art and Design. She's got her ducks in a row. I'm very proud of her, but I wish she'd leave Roscoe here. However I do understand.

I'm sorry! I know you are attached to him and I still can't believe she is doing this.

that is a bitch-don't these youngsters realize how attached we get to our animals? she thinks it's silly about his care package?! if we'd pack one up for our human family why wouldn't we do the same for our pets? Savannah is going to be a bid adjustment for Roscoe and I hope she can handle it when he mourns- and i hope she reads this with an open heart. Obviously she doesn't know her pet that well

To be fair to Ms M, I know how she feels. If the roles were reversed, I'm not sure I would leave him here either. When you love your dog it's very very hard to leave him behind. She knows if it doesn't work out, I'll always be happy to have him back with me. And I'll miss Ms M very much.
