Things Have Changed

I'll tell you all about it later, but for now, Happy New Year, drive carefully, and don't drive drunk!

Sagely advise, Ms. Utah Savage! And a fantastic song choice to boot. The thing is, though...things haven't changed - in a broader manner of speaking, that is. Happy next year, as one of my commenters recently said. :-)

I want peace, but it's not happenin'. :-/

What's going to change is my attitude toward blogging. I want to stay connected to you who are kind enough to look in on me.

Here's to a better new year.

May it be better for us all.

This is the year we all learn to be resourceful in ways we never imagined. New kinds of commerce will be popping up all over the place. Neighborhood coops are going to be important to encourage and support. We'll rely on friends more than we feel comfortable sometimes. We need to learn to accept the kindnesses of a meal, the plate of cookies delivered by the neighbor's child. Don't forget the shut-ins. We're all going to get there. Compassion and empathy are going to be needed and in short supply, since hardship makes generosity seem a sacrifice.

Utah (if I may use your first name),

That is a very kind and wonderful message. What a great world this would be if everyone followed it. Bless you!
