It's a New Day In America

I was so exhausted last night I forgot to take my bipolar meds. So far from what I can tell this morning, it is the biggest win since sometime in the '60's. It's a landslide and that's what we needed to make it clear to those who were so opposed to "THAT ONE" that there will be no question of the legitimacy of this election.

For some reason, sometime yesterday Utah Savage was unable to leave herself a comment and neither apparently could anyone else. So with three posts up and zero comments on all three posts, I thought maybe you'd all decided you didn't like me anymore. I went visiting blogs everywhere looking for crowds and found them here and there, but not a soul at my place. Randal seemed to be missing in action, and so far this morning he still is. I hope Randal didn't get lost in the throngs of voters. Even Ohio voted for President Obama. Yea Randal. Now where is he?

You have to say this for McCain. That man sure can lose well. He seems to take more pleasure in losing than anyone I've ever seen. His most graceful moment of the campaign was his concession speech.

Tucker Carlson had a tantrum on Morning Joe--I'm usually not up early enough to catch the bully that is Morning Joe. But I did awake to a pouting, upset Tucker Carlson. Maybe he's really upset about all the weight he's gained since last we saw him, and is blaming his binge eating on THAT ONE.

It's 9:45 AM and I need a nap.

I did try to leave you a comment on those empty posts, something was wrong, I'm glad to see it's now fixed ........

Last night feels so good, I can't stop smiling. The electoral landslide was absolutely necessary! We have a country again!

Too bad Utah (the state, not you) proved itself to be immune from change. Our county stayed repub from prez down to county commish. No change here! Well, eff em, change is here whether they want it or not. Time to enter the 21st century!

I've got a permanent smile, too, this morning and it does feel so good!! And you're right about McCain, he gave the best speech I've heard him give in a long time and definitely the most gracious loser, I've heard in a long time. Yeah, and eff the rest, we are moving into the 21st center, 8 years late, but better than never!

It certainly has been a long time coming, hasn't it?

I really think McCain knew he was going to lose based on internal polling. The concession speech seemed polished and well-rehearsed.

Obama certainly has a lot of work to do, doesn't he?

It is a good day in America and McSame did give up the fight with grace like they used to do back in the day.

Tucker Carlson is still around?? I thought they kicked him to the curb a long time ago??

Tried a couple of times to leave a comment yesterday with no success.

Blogger has been screwed up with comment problems- I find them intermittently and yesterday was your day.

BTW, I loved the apple pie. A lot. Thank you.

Anyway, your bit about Tucker made me laugh.

Oh the angry bitter people will be coming out of the walls.

My friend's husband is already whining that he better get his tax cut as he was promised.

Sheesh.

McCain delivered a graceful concession speech indeed. Regardless of his speech being written in advance, polished, and rehearsed, he delivered it well with conviction—he laid out a positive atmosphere for both parties and it was a change from the "us" versus "them" mentally both campaigns have created throughout this election. I have a deep respect for the speech he gave.

President Obama has a lot of challenges ahead of him, but I am confident that he will follow through. His election has re-energized this country, gave it hope, and a positive outlook. It's a sign of the times--and it's a time I'm proud, privileged, and honored to be a part of.

BTW Utah Savage, thank you for your blog. I enjoy reading your posts as well as your commentators. =)

Ditto on the trying to leave comments yesterday. It was frustrating, but I figured you'd get it fixed. And you did.

Well, it's 3:00 PM and I'm waking up to go to the doctor, grocery shop and then home. I feel like I've had a lost weekend and it's only Wed. I had to cancel my matinee movie day with Nick. We postponed until Friday. My head is spinning and we have several inches of new snow. I'll have to come home from the errands to find a snow shovel.

So glad you guys came to visit. I missed you yesterday. It was very lonely without your voices. Oh the horrors of a comment section that doesn't have any comments in it.

As you now know - well, at least I said so in my reply to your comment at my place - my internets was broken.

Fuck Tucker Carlson. I think it was John Derbyshire who ranted like a fucking whiny five-year old at the Corner. Look, your puppet of the Nazi douchebags lost.

And can we PLEASE stop with the "McCain gave a heartfelt acceptance speech?" The dude, knowing he had no shot otherwise, WILLINGLY permitted the cesspool of wingnut thought to control his campaign.
"I'm John McCain and I approved this message." You sure did. Now go rot somewhere in the middle of the Arizona desert.

utah, if no one ever shows up, leave comments to yourself. That's what I would do if you all got blown up by Ohio McVeigh.

blogger is out to lunch with our comments occasionally, I hear....I am so thrilled I have no words...sat and bawled like a baby during Obama's speech last night, and, like you, feel that McCain's concession speech was his finest moment....

darlin', don't you worry about comments,, they're here in out hearts, if not on your blog....did you take those meds yet? I've been doing the same thing lately, what's up with that??

The night we took back our country was so exciting to me I never crossed my mind to take my meds. This is the first time in years I didn't take my nightly dose. So I took my anti-depressant this moring instead of last night, I canceled my movie date, and made it to my doctor for a clotting factor check. Blood pressure--perfect, clotting factor--perfect. Joy and jubilation at the pharmacy. All of us fucked up old hippies blissed out on Obama. Salt Lake and the Cities north of Salt Lake went for Obama. So we are not the most right wingnut state in the union. Now we are maybe third from the bottom.

Everyone at my doctor's office was thrilled with the election results. I'm trying to keep myself calm and try to eat in small amounts, often. I'm a bit off schedule a bit low bloodsugar. But I'll be fine.

My apple pie is better as a left over than it was fresh out of the oven. I bought myself a pastry cutter today. I will master the art of fluffy crust.

We got sick and tired of the Republicans, and in four or eight years we will be sick and tired of the Democrats. Maybe then we can get in an Independent of some sort in to give it a shot. If we are not in anarchy.

Just how much power do you people think a president has? Not that damn much in some ways. I don't expect things to change much for the next year, other than to maybe get worse. This country is full of people that think they are special and should be spoiled, yeah, lets see how it is in a year.

I like the man but I'm not blowing soap bubbles yet. And if he does do a good job and we love him we have to let him go in eight years, how do you like those beans?

McCain's concession speech was longer than Obama's acceptance one.. I was hoping somebody would come with a hook to drag him off like they did in vaudeville. I don't care how gracious he sounded I will never forget just how malicious and nasty he was toward Obama or that he chose that stupid bitch pitbull for a running mate.

Okay, so I'm not always very good at forgiving and forgetting. Apologies.
