Anthony Weiner's Sexting

I'm in my mid-sixties and I'm not shocked at all about Anthony Weiner's sexting.  Frankly I've never known a man who didn't like phone sex or some kind of virtual sex. It might be my generation.  We are the generation of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, so why is someone like Chris Matthews acting like such a prissy, childish, clueless, moron about it? Unless Weiner was sending pictures of his naked, erect penis to underage girls it isn't a crime, unlike most of the bullshit that Vitter and Ensign and so many others on the Family Values Right have carried on without anyone calling for them to resign.  The Left tends not to wrap themselves in the lily white sheet of Family Values Purity so when they do something stupid like this it doesn't reek of hypocrisy. Let the House Ethics Committee decide what it wants to do with Anthony Weiner.  Then let the voters of New York decide what they want to do with Anthony Weiner.  I'm betting he stays.  New Yorkers tend to be pretty sophisticated about such nonsense.  It doesn't have anything to do with the issues that effect their lives. Only two newscasters have handled it sensibly and they are Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow.  The rest of you are children or hypocrites.

I really hope he doesn't resign. It's about time people truly understand that there is nothing pathological about consenting adult sexual relations of all flavors. That other Savage Genius is working as fast as he can to inform folks, too, and the tides they are a changin,' but faster faster (sigh).

Remember when a president's having inhaled in college was a big deal? Well, after George Bush said he had, and GOPers upheld their double standard, then Obama was able to let that shit glide right off his back. Sadly, this may mean the GOP needs to get ggg to break this through this barrier before it's ok for Dems to.

God Feida, you sure can write! And you're so smart. I love you. Will You marry me?

Well you said it in one word...nonsense! Uptight, square-turding, fornicating, adulterous right-wing hypocrites, who are probably trying to find a copy of the photos for their own private pleasure, are jumping on this for political gain. Pure and simple.

His biggest sin? Not staying keenly aware that his every move was being watched by the above, ready to crucify him.

Well, as you said, it is "nonsense"

What pisses me off is Pelosi calling for an ethics investigation.
She did not call for an investigation for torture, rendition, an illegal war where over a million died & a host of Human rights violations, in the Bush 2 era. None of that warranted an investigation?

But a photo sexting tweet of gray boxer underwear or even full monty whatever-- stupid yes, illegal no.

And seriously, is anyone buying this Breitbart BS that the naked photo was accidentally captured while he showed a photo from his phone & the camera "accidentally" caught the photo?
They were taping a RADIO SHOW. Radio shows do not involve cameras rolling.

I don't want one damned dime spent on investigating Fruit-of-the-loom Weiner Gate.

The guy was otherwise doing a good job.

Jibrill, that was sweet. I've been lazy. Someone suggested I checkout Facebook and I've been misusing that space ever since turning my wall into a screaming political rant.

If Vitter can stay then certainly Weiner can stay and Democrats need to stop throwing their own to the wolves.

the only ones that should tell him to resign are the ones that voted for him..

Agreed 100%.

Who gives a rat's ass what he is doing with his sexuality as long as it's with another consenting adult? I sure as fuck don't. And yes, the republicans are the biggest hypocrites on the face of this earth. Why don't they just worry about Vitter and others like him and stay the fuck out of consenting adults sexual lives?

I was once half drunk watching some Michael Moore show and Michael would chat to a number of conservative, "family values" type US politicians and then get them in the perfect position to ask them if they could put their hands on this bible and swear to God they had never masturbated, had pre marital sex or had an affair.

Me and my brother cracked up laughing at the look on the faces of these mostly fat and probably over-sexed fools, as Michael M asked them that last question.

PS- "Fran", I think you nailed it!

Weiner won't resign. He can't. Without this job he's unemployable.

Anyway, this clown is married, and you know his wife is sick about his behavior.

Even if he were single, he would look stupid, but he's married so you know his wife is going to spend a lot of time torturing him for humiliating her.

Meanwhile, maybe her Islamic family will feel dishonored and take some of the standard measures to alleviate their humiliation.

This episode has ended all of his hopes of becoming the mayor of NY City.

Hey, if it were Bush's weiner (remember that flight deck scene?), Matthews would have his tongue hanging out his mouth (again).

He's such a shill.

Glad you're posting again!

P.S. You've been trolled by that Slap-Himself-In-the-Head con artist.

I was disappointed that he did go ahead and resign. But I also thought it was pretty juvenile and I wonder what the heck he was thinking to do stuff like that - did he really think no one would ever find out? Or that they'd ignore it if they did? Especially with his last name? How could the media resist? I'm afraid Anthony did it to himself. I hope that doesn't prevent him from running for mayor though - I'm sure by then his career could be rehabilitated!

You still write as well and succinctly as ever. As a woman 'of a certain age' I agree with your assessment.

agree with everything you said...and the damn dems also acted prissy-it wasn't just Tweety.....can't believe how fast they threw him under the bus....I miss him already and grayson too.....I miss that we have NO Lions roaring for the people...none...

I wrote a post on it too....basically said that I thought the Dems, MSM, etc all rushed to throw him under the bus....

and it does not compare to some of the other crap we have watched go down...like lies to take us into an illegal war....

no slapz--wrong again. something good comes of the resignation. this is the best piece I've seen on the subject, although I do think that politically the whole story was simply blotting out the sun. that's the media's fault, but weiner was the only one who could end the yakking.
