Hiding Out

Darkblack has put one of those mysterious links in a comment on my tag of him for the current meme. I figured Darkblack might not want to play, but a woman can dream can't she? Here is the piece from the link and it is quite eloquent. Thank you Darkblack. I now officially have a blog crush on you. So are you male or female--not that it really matters? I have a girl crush on Freida of the Bees and an abiding love for Lisa. I've lusted after Tengrain, and even got a thrill or two from the attention of Kelso and his nuts. The one blogger who used to scare me when he left a comment was Fairlane, and he seems to have taken a long vacation. I hope he returns soon. I liked Jonestown a lot, especially when Fairlane was posting and especially when Scarlet Blue made an appearance. I swear he's kidnapped her and has her locked up somewhere, so hiding out might be a good thing for him.

For now, I'm going to be hiding out trying to finish the final edit on the novel, Maggy. Hang in there with me. I obviously like teh blogging or I'd shut the hell up and get to work.

Hey, I see you over there with the cigarette and the big dog eying me suspiciously.

I think Darkblack is extremely blog-crush worthy. Just the right amount of mystery.....

You've got my number. I'm about to take my news fix break. I will get stoned.

Yes, Darkblack is blog-crush worthy. Yes, I do like a little mystery, just not too much. There is you know the mysterious boy I tried to have sex with who is in reality older by me and emailing me. Woohoo! He knows everything about me; I know nothing about him. Except he did buy his copy of Lolita in Paris. Mystery.

YDG, you sound like my shrink. There are so many nurturing women out there. I wonder if I am like my mother; born without the gene. I'm nicer than she was, but jesus, I just don't try to take care of anybody but me and my dog.

finish your book quickly so you can sell it and get back to blogging....

Ghost, that's just the bit of bracing advise I've been giving myself. But the more I read and cut; I realize I still have stories to tell. And I will write them as fiction, but we know... I do miss making rounds, visiting you guys.

excellent icon by the way.....

Well, isn't this nice...I'm flattered by the direct form of address.

I'd tell you all that I was quite ordinary, but that would be a lie as none of us are truly ordinary - perhaps unentertaining, which I attempt to keep as my antithesis.

Old show biz habits...or phantasms of neurosis in the aged? Irrelevant, no?

;>)

We could swap old show business stories.

Yeah, I'm catnip.

Is this the way polygamous sects start?

Randal Graves said...

Oh shit, you guys aren't in fact going to start a sect, get tax-exempt status, then start a multimedia empire about Jesus actually being one of the methane-fueled bacteria they just found on Mars, are you?

Freida Bee said...

Don't worry, Randal. You're invited. In fact, you're the leader. A holy smell told me.

I'm glad you're pulling Maggy together - to go to publishers, I hope, yes?

I just read and commented on "Too Damn Big" on Savage Stories. I really enjoyed it (read some parts more than once) - and I explain why... And I laughed when, after reading your prior post on Eastwood, the car Judith drove to Kansas City is specifically mentioned as a Grand Torino. When it rains it pours.

The four shorts I've read so far, cover some ground - if you get Maggy published, I bet there would be an opportunity to put out a collection of short stories right behind it.

Put on your Judith and get to work!

We are crushing hard on the same people, U-Savage, U.

Love your new icon.

I'm glad you're working on the novel. I hope you don't stop blogging for long, though. You would be seriously missed.

As Teeny would say, "Crushing you with my love".

Steve, new icon for you too, I see. I like it. I think the self portrait is my single favorite visual art form.

Thanks for the encouragemt on the short stories. It's a fairly new form for me. I was always intimidated by the short story. It has a need for just enought information, and character developmet and an ending. I always had the same problem with painting. Knowing when to stop was the hardest thing for me.

I'm making some large cuts on Maggy this time through, but I need to cut deeper. The things I cut can be made into stories. That's nice to know. It comforts me to know I have at least another book in me and a good start on it.

OK, I'm working on my meme.... I have just successfully linked to you.... I'm cooking with gas now!!

I am savoring and saving your short stories - I read them one at a time, and space them deliberately. I think they're that good. Not something to gobble up, and not something to rush. Gourmet reading (no "bean casserole" in this collection*)

I know I am married and not human but all this crush business leaves me most curious.

Human females fascinate me in that there are so many luscious taboos, that's why I married one. U.S. you are definitely in the crush zome of one of my staff. His initials are FS.
